You play as Mila, a vampire huntress who secretly fantasizes of being taken and turned into a vampire herself. For the record, that doesn't mean every enemy has a unique attack animation, but I have created a few to keep standard attacks visually fresh.Crimson Veil is a thrilling and involved RPG Maker experience focused around vampires, monster girls and corruption. These are just a few examples, but I have done this with every enemy currently in the game to make fighting them feel just a bit more unique. So for reference, Bianca being weak and not used to combat will do a dinky, weak attack animation, however, the Librarian will attack with sharpened claws! The male villagers of Humilem have a punching animation while the female ones will slap Mila across the face. Take a look at the new bite skill animation:Īdditionally, I've made it so that the standard attack animation for each enemy type is varied. It took a while and my eyes hurt from staring at the screen for so long, ( I'm writing this just after finishing the last animation) but like every major investment in this game so far, it's worth it. I added some animation packs into the game and key framed some of the effects manually, so yeah. Since so many of them used the same animations, I also took the time to give nearly everything a unique animation, with some exceptions of course. In most cases, the default animation setting needed adjusting. In order to get this to work with the game, I actually had to go back and review the animations for every skill and item that could be used in battle in the game (Over 130!) and make sure it was compatible with this new plugin. I was looking into making battles look flashier and I found a plugin that helped me achieve that! The battle UI is getting another face lift in the coming update! Enemies will now play battle animations when they attack! Now, onto the quality of life feature I mentioned. Sorry for the crops! You'll have to wait for the update's release for the full versions! This scene has also already been scripted into the game. Before I get to that however, I completed two illustrations this week which you can view a preview of below. I spent the better half of yesterday working on a very time consuming, albeit great quality of life feature to the game. This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist. “Cabin Fever” consumes with its emotive songwriting and eclectic tonal rock approach. The track proves riveting in its back-and-forth between grunge-y raucousness and soaring emotion, the latter particularly evident approaching the three-minute turn. The “something troubling you and me,” rise propels with heavy guitar distortion, while the ensuing verses cast a breezier, jangly quality. “Cabin Fever” fully satiates ahead of the album release, presently without a release date though tentatively scheduled for later this year. So I’ll manage,” he says, noting that the project has “always been more of a solo project with a cast of musicians helping me record.” Following his melancholy lockdown song Cabin Fever, the heartwarming. “I’ve brought in Anton Boyko, the producer of first album, and he’s magic. Releasing ahead of the band’s currently-untitled upcoming album, “Cabin Fever” provides a preview of what to anticipate - specifically, a successful sound that balances gritty alt-rock ferocity with soaring introspection.īand leader Ilya Novokhatskiy relocated to Georgia following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and is presently at work on the album, tracking all the instruments apart from drums himself. 4 USD or more Send as Gift about Get this album on vinyl (limited edition): bit.ly/3hbIFW4 Listen everywhere fanlink.to/CabinFeverPt3 Music by xander. “Cabin Fever” is a rousing rocker from the band Apache Rose, now based in the country of Georgia following their move from Russia. Major effort has gone into making 4 Elements II a visual feast at every turn. The action is lively with the bursting of the tiles, the explosions from the arrows and landmines, and the ever-present fairy flying around (along with cute background animations matching the element that is being restored). The game pieces in the match-3 rounds have very distinct colors and, if the player is colorblind, each has its own distinctive pattern which makes them easy to differentiate. The graphics and animations are bright, clear, and cartoony from the intros and the cut-scenes to the actual gameplay itself. Not so with 4 Elements II, which throws in so many mini-games, hidden objects scenes, and the like that it seems to have created its own unique niche of gameplay, the match-3/adventure/hidden object hybrid. While the original was fantastic fun it was also pretty static and predictable: play four rounds of match three, then solve a "spot-the-difference" puzzle. To round out the help are four different power-ups which are filled by making matches of certain colors and which affect the board in different ways.Īnalysis: If you've played the original 4 Elements and think you know what to expect in the sequel, think again. There are the usual ice and stone obstacles to be found, along with helpful pockets of arrows and landmines which, when activated, clear paths as well. Eventually the maps will also contain certain obstacles which are themselves mini-games: pipe puzzles, block sliders, and twisting ring puzzles that need to be solved during the match-3 round before the magic can move along. Unfortunately, the way to the altar is never really a straight path, and it includes a lot of twists and turns along the way. To begin with, rather than being forced to break all the "tiles" in the game (which is usual in most match-3s), all the player has to do is break enough for the magic to flow through to the altar. While the heart of the gameplay is the match-3 boards, even these are not your usual match-3 challenges. Once that happens another mini-game pops up (one of a variety including hidden object scenes, spot the differences, swap jigsaws, and other puzzles) to completely restore the creature. When the altar is restored the game moves on to the next map until the creature has been identified. The weakened fairy will "light" the elemental magic at one end of a map, and it is up to the player to create a path for the energy by using the matches to break through the ground to allow it to flow to the elemental altar at the other end of the map. Within each elemental segment are four people or creatures that need to be found and restored, requiring four screens of match 3 madness per creature. Once the fairy has been freed she leads the player into the meat of the gameplay, the match-3 action, which is the "chain drag" type of match-3. This opening chapter plays like a mini adventure/ hidden object hybrid with lots of object pieces to find and puzzles to solve. Once they are, they can aid you in finding the people and creatures of the element, eventually getting everything back to normal.Ĥ Elements II is broken up into four main segments, each beginning with the freeing of the elemental fairy. Even worse, the fairy of each element has been trapped in the ensuing chaos and nothing can be done about restoring the natural balance until those fairies are freed. The basic premise of 4 Elements II is that the aging sorcerer who guards and protects the elemental book of magic has weakened, losing control of the elements thus causing tons of natural disasters. Once again the elements are out of whack in the Magic Kingdom and it's up to you to make things right before all life ceases to exist in 4 Elements II. Playrix Entertainment has come roaring back with a sequel to one of the most engaging match-3 games ever, 4 Elements. Fortunately, that balance was restored and everything went back to normal. Then, something dreadful happened and the elements went out of control, wreaking havoc across the land and its people. er, well, a long time ago, anyway, there was a Magic Kingdom where the basic elements, earth, air, fire, and water, were in perfect balance and the people in the kingdom lived in peace and harmony. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. The sound effects of Black and Bruised is first class and all the boxers have their own personal taunts that really helps add to the atmosphere of the game. Another impressive feature of the game is that when you hit a boxer, you can actually see the visible bruising that you leave on their face. The developers have also done a great job at the various backgrounds where you must fight such as Mexico and Egypt that are extremely colourful and sharp. The frame rate of the game is perfect and runs at extremely high speeds, ensuring that this game is one of the smoothest games on the PlayStation 2. All the characters in the game look like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon that all have their own unique personalities and are extremely well animated. Graphically Black and Bruised is one of those games that doesn't fit in with the traditional genre of PS2 graphics as it uses a combination of cell-shaded graphics with cartoon animation. Fortunately, there are a variety of powerups available in the game that help spruce things up such as super speed and regeneration. So if you are an expert at mashing buttons together, you will easily become the World Champion in both the single player and multiplayer modes. The control system behind Black and Bruised is basically a button masher and there isn't too much skill involved to hit your opponent. The unfortunate aspect of Black and Bruised is that just about all the characters play the same and the only thing that separates them from each other is the way they look. By completing the boxer's life gameplay, you also unlock five other mystery characters. Boxer's life allows the player to take their other characters in various story-driven matches with a variety of cut scenes to keep things interesting that lead you to the grand finale. For most gamers, the main two methods of gameplay will be boxer's life and multiplayer. Black and Bruised contains a variety of different gameplay modes that include two-player fight, tournament, survival, training and boxer's life. There are fourteen boxers to choose from in Black and Bruised with another five hidden characters that must be unlocked in order for the gamer to select them. Unlike other realistic boxing games like King of Boxers, Black and Bruised takes a more entertaining approach to the sport of boxing and include a variety of loveable characters such as trailer park beauty, Knuckles Nadine (who loves to cheat) or the skinny Mexican wrestler called El Lunchador. Black and Bruised is the latest boxing sensation to *HIT* the PlayStation 2 that contains some of the most highly entertaining boxing anecdotes since "Lets get Ready to Rumble" and with a great cartoon style boxing engine, it is sure to be either a big hit or miss with gamers around the world. I wrote this program because I was interested in how much faster a skilled player is than I am, the untrained once-in-a-while player. You must try to follow the unpredictably moving target analogous to the way you must aim on a wildly jumping opponent in a first person shooter game. More aboutĮxperimenting with the screen-mouse loop-back. Ought to be considered by selecting a monitor and should be covered in tests and hardware reviews! For assessing this I implemented a function to the program thatĬan measure the intrinsic delay of the whole loop: drawn graphics - display on screen - optical mouse - mouse driver and windows message system. The essence is, my large TFT screenĪdds another delay time to the graphics output! It seems to store at least one full frame before displaying it! For a pro gamer this effect should make a huge impact and While working on this, I wondered why I got results differing by ~20ms when running the program on my notebook and my full grown PC. You are free to enable 'wait for vsynch' in the graphic cards properties.įor a physicist like me the project is interesting because the program can determine you personal amplitude and phase response. Todays graphics cards should have no problem with rendering that few polygons with full refresh rate. The program is written in Delphi and uses OpenGl. You could call this delay time your 'personal ping' from eye to hand as it is also expressed in milliseconds (ms). This is a toy program to test your reaction speed or, more precicely, your eye-to-hand delay time under 'realistic' conditions. I have taken care to compare your reaction with what is actually visible on the screen at any time (except delays of the monitor). no dependency on the 'wait for VSynch' anymore. Have to have 2^n pixel size, for instance 256x256. bmp in the reaction.exe directory it will load and use them. if it finds image files 'crosshair', 'target', 'wall1', 'ceil', 'floor' either as. What's available for this varies widely between different cars, so that's why we don't have it selected by default.Presently, there is not a boost video overlay within the app, so you would need to use RaceRender to show it on a video. The best way to overcome this is to change the OBD channel selection to one of the Throttle Pedal options, assuming that your vehicle offers this. the engine computer is using your throttle pedal input to determine how much engine torque output it thinks you want, applying various other adjustments to that, and then commanding the engine controls accordingly. This was simpler with the old cable throttles that were a direct relationship to your throttle pedal input, but in many modern vehicles, it can have a mind of its own. The first speed in the list will be GPS, and the second will be OBD.Īssuming the OBD-II adapter and vehicle ECU are reporting properly, this is likely the actual throttle plate position, rather than your throttle pedal input. In RaceRender, it should default to the OBD speed (tends to be better for detecting gearing), but you can switch between the two by double-clicking on the data file in the "Input Files" list, going down to the "Vehicle Speed" selection, and choosing a specific data field. In TrackAddict, most everything will be based on GPS speeds, although its in-app video player can be switched to show the OBD speed instead. GPS speeds can jump around like that if there's poor signal conditions (in which case your driving line data might look a bit rough too), and OBD speeds may do similar if there's communication or compatibility issues with the OBD-II adapter or vehicle. Any ideas what might be happening there? Not a super big issue since it works in RaceRender. This is most likely a difference between the OBD and GPS reported speeds, with one app using one and the other app using the other. I thought it might be because I do have one of the generic $15 OBDII adapters, however, if I export that video to my PC and watch in RaceRender, it's spot on. It has me doing 5-6mph when I'm doing 30-40, and then goes the other way as well, sometimes showing 60-70mph when I'm only doing 50. When viewing the videos in TrackAddict on my phone, the OBD speed is WAY off. In TrackAddict, I can Gear+1 to accurately reflect the gear my car is in, but when in RaceRender, I can't quite figure out how to do that. One last thing, I'm sure this is in the documentation somewhere, but I haven't been able to dig it up yet. When I finally hit WOT coming out of a turn, it jumps up, but then settles back down to about 50%, even if I'm on the long straight where it's 100% floored for quite a bit. The other thing I've noticed is that my throttle indication, even if I select percentage, it doesn't accurately reflect the current throttle position. Any ideas what might be happening there? Not a super big issue since it works in RaceRender. The first thing, and the one that prompted an account to ask: I recorded my first outing but I am experiencing some strange behavior. Just started attending track events in my Focus RS. |
